TableScroll: An Experiment in "Analog Spatial Computing"

desktop2

My wife gave me a roll of paper to mark our first wedding anniversary. I started writing on it instead of my journal. It started with little dashes of thoughts, then boxes and arrows, then sketches. It migrated to my desk. Paperclips keep the scroll from unraveling.

Exploring scroll tech in an age of AI and VR may seem anachronistic. But there’s something uniquely immediate and refreshing about a scroll. It reminds me that pages are a technological innovation distinct from paper.

This gets into some philosophical digressions and aesthetic suspicions - but I’ll table those for now.

I’m adding features bits at a time. Next up is an arm for an overhead camera and QR code stickers. I want to avoid a prescriptive process while I build this hybrid workshop.
